Comparative Faunal Collection

Comparative Faunal Collection Items

The zooarchaeology comparative collection consists of faunal material from throughout the Southeast, including the skeletal remains of about 250 individual mammals, birds, fish and reptiles. The collection regularly is used for the identification and analysis of archaeological animal bone, and as a teaching aid for classes in anthropology and forensics.

For more information about faunal analysis, contact Mr. Derek Anderson, dta49@msstate.edu.
